Senior Jeffrey Brown has received the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen award for Orleans County.
Each year, schools nominate a student to receive the award and students then can compete in a scholarship competition. One student from each county is recognized and moves on to the next level of the scholarship competition.
The award aims to recognize seniors who display dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. Earlier this year, Brown received the Character Award at the Board of Education meeting. He is a senior class officer, National Honor Society member and is involved in numerous activities, including athletics and drama.
The Orleans Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in 1925 and is a society to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence, to promote the development of an enlightened public opinion and to foster patriotic citizenship.
