Geno Allport presented Albion Central Schools (ACS) with the 2024 Jim Ellegate Memorial Award during the Board of Education (BOE) meeting this past December.
On Monday, December 2, 2024, Allport spoke in front of the Albion BOE, thanking them for allowing the Niagara-Orleans Football Association (NOFA) to use the turf field this past season.
Superintendent Mickey Edwards accepted the award on behalf of the District.
“We were happy to collaborate with NOFA and our Albion Youth Football program this past fall,” Edwards said. “We look forward to supporting our future student-athletes as they continue to develop their love for the game.”
The award, which is given in memory of Ellegate who died in a car accident coming home from coaching, is dedicated to the sport of football, the love of the game, and more importantly the love of children.
