Members of the Junior Future Farmers of America (FFA) recently competed in a variety of events with every student now moving on to Sub States to be held on March 18.
In the Junior Prepared Public Speaking contest, Adele Mathes placed third, Carter Krull fourth and Aubrey Bruning fifth. Kennedy Murphy placed sixth in Junior People in Agriculture. Julia Graham finished seventh in Junior Creed. In Junior Extemporaneous Public Speaking, Krull was second, Mallory Holt fourth, Bruning sixth and Murphy seventh.
The students have been working hard for weeks to prepare for the competition with advisor Mrs. Caton Conde.
For Prepared Public Speaking, students present a speech on an agriculture-related topic. In People in Agriculture, students prepare a presentation on jobs available in the industry. Creed allows students to develop public speaking skills and self-confidence as they memorize and recite the FFA Creed. Students who compete in Extemporaneous Public Speaking have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and ability to think on their feet in front of a panel of judges.
Congratulations to all the students and good luck at the next competition!
