Two elementary school students were recognized in front of the Board of Education at the December meeting for being selected as the Character and Leadership award honorees for the month of November. Adelyn Gephart received the Character Award while Savannah Sherman was bestowed the Leadership Award.
Character Award - Adelyn Gephart
Adelyn Gephart was nominated for the Character Award by Mrs. Kovaleski. Mrs. Kovaleski states, “I would like to recommend Adelyn Gephart for the Character award. Adelyn is a fabulous role model for others. She is trustworthy and conscientious. She displays the utmost responsibility for herself, her belongings and ownership within our classroom. We had a new student join our class this week and Adelyn was the first to offer a hand to help our new friend feel at home and learn the ropes. She shows ownership for her actions and decisions. With a bounce in her step and a smile, Adelyn approaches every task with a growth mindset and realizes that she might not have a concept yet but trusts that her determination and hard work will get her there soon! Adelyn is extremely deserving of this character award.”
Leadership Award - Savannah Sherman
Savannah Sherman was nominated for the Leadership Award by Ms. Kania. Ms. Kania states, “Savannah is an absolute pleasure! She has become a class leader, setting a fine example for her fellow peers. She works hard on any assignment that she is given and is willing to take the initiative to help her classmates or anyone else who needs her, doing so with a smile. Her effort and responsibility far exceeds my expectations. I look forward to seeing what other amazing work Savannah will accomplish!”
