Dear Purple Eagle Families,

Recently we experienced firsthand the importance of being vigilant when it comes to reporting anything that could be deemed a threat to the safety and security of our community. We are thankful for those who spoke up and for the immediate action taken concerning this serious issue.

We face a broad threat today in our communities but we are not powerless, and we can continue to help reduce the risk. That begins by giving everyone a voice in this endeavor toward safety. That includes you.

If you see something that doesn’t seem, look, sound or feel right, say something. Tell your child’s principal. Call the police. Tell our school resource officer. Be strong and stand up for others.

At Albion Central School District, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We develop safety protocols with the help of law enforcement to make sure we follow the best practices. These procedures and safety measures are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep everyone in our schools safe.

Sometimes all we need is someone who is willing to sound the alarm; let’s all be that person. For the sake of our students, friends and loved ones, if you see something, say something.

If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or your student’s principal. We must continue to work together to keep safety a priority.

Sincerely,

Mickey Edwards
Superintendent of Schools
