Genesee Promise Plus Scholarship
Genesee Promise Plus is a special program designed specifically
for June 2010 high school students who are graduating from a high
school located in Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties
in New York State. Under Genesee Promise Plus, every GLOW area June
2010 high school graduate will receive a scholarship covering the
cost of tuition for one or two summer 2010 courses beginning on
July 6th offered by Genesee Community College at any of its seven
campus locations in Albion, Arcade, Batavia, Dansville, Lima, Medina,
and Warsaw.
Scholarship Application deadline; June 18th.
Early registration is recommended.

Genesee Community College (GCC)
Albion students can elect to take college courses right in high
school, taught by their own teachers, who are certified by the local
community college. The college credit is offered through Genesee
Community College at a discounted rate. Students can choose from
a full menu of courses including, English, European History, Calculus,
US History, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Computer Aided Drafting, English
Literature, Psychology, Sociology and Public Speaking. As a result,
students are better prepared for college, and most colleges and
universities will accept the transfer credit.
SUNY Brockport's 3-1-3 Program
SUNY Brockport's 3-1-3 program lets high school seniors earn up
to 30 credits toward their first year of a bachelor's degree before
they become full-time college students. Students take a combination
of SUNY Brockport-approved high school courses and first-year classes
at the college. The cost of the Brockport courses is discounted
by 50% under this program. Students may transfer their credits to
any college in the SUNY system, as well as many private colleges.
